Operation of boats and other watercraft such as kayaks, canoes and paddle boards is prohibited and restricted to Navy and Fish and Wildlife personnel. The Refuge has many sensitive and endangered species that require protection from activities that would produce a negative impact. Intrusion into the Refuge becomes a security issue and possible safety hazard and is posted accordingly and not authorized by the United States Navy.
